GIFT OF PRAYER
I have a gift for you!
It is the gift of prayer!
Not the prayers of church,
of synagogues, or mosques,
nor those done
on one’s knees,
But rather those given on one’s feet!
— The prayer of the moment! —
Of taking one’s time
to taste sweet bread,
to inhale fragrant flowers,
To touch friends and strangers,
all in a day’s celebration!
The gift of prayer
that is no less
than the gift of life!
Of not forgetting to live;
Not waiting for tomorrow
to feel God’s presence.
Of allowing holiness
to fill the tiny cracks
we must allow for
each of our busy days,
By opening our hearts
and in-between moments
to all the many traces,
Of nothing less
than life itself!
and God in his many faces!

My prayers to H. Jr., Lydia, Lisa and Edwin. I hadn't seen Phil in too long of a time, but I'll miss hearing him say "Hey Cuz!". I have such a wealth of memories to treasure and remember him. And am blessed for that.
