Perla Pono Obituary

Nov. 10, 1938 - May 31, 2008

On May 31, 2008, Perla V. Pono, beloved wife and mother, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 69.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1938 in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1962.

Perla was a long-standing member of the Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. A lifetime Roman Catholic, she was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. She found comfort and support from the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary prayer group. The friendships she formed with its members provided her with spiritual strength to endure her long-term illness.

Perla is survived by her husband of 48 years, Godofredo L. Pono; daughters, Ligaya and Mercy; sons, Ernesto (Chazz) and Samuel; and grandchildren Jared, Jazmin and Joshua.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation from noon to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, June 12 at Skyview Memorial Lawn, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo. Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 13 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, 3450 Tennessee St., Vallejo.

Dear Ernie, Sam, Mercy, & Ligaya:

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. It has been over twenty years since I first met your mother. I remember how loving and kind she was to me and my parents. When I think of her, I see her big bright eyes and warm smile. She will be deeply missed. May God give you strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Sam and Ernie..
I don't know if you will remember me. I knew you both back in the day, when we were all much younger. I was DeNise Golding then.
I read that your mother passed away and I want you both to know I'm praying for you.
Though it's been years since I've seen you, I hold fond memories of you both and I just wanted you to know that you have my deepest heartfelt sympathies. Please feel free to contact me. God Bless
