Annamay Harte Obituary

Harte, Annamay ALBANY Annamay (Knauf) Harte, 92, died peacefully Saturday, June 21, 2008. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Cecelia (Sanders) Knauf. She was an entrepreneur as a young woman, purchasing her parents service station/gro-cery store in the Wolf Road area in the 1940s. She ran the business until 1958 when the property was taken by the State of New York to facilitate construction of the Northway. Mrs. Harte was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales in Loudonville. Wife of the late John J. Harte; mother of Jacquelyn Harte of Albany and Cecilia Houting of Loudonville; sister of the late Cecelia V. Bucci and Henry Knauf. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8:15 a.m. Thursday in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany thence to St. James Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday 4 - 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Annamay may be made to the Capital District Humane Association, P.O. Box 11330, Loudonville, NY 12211 or St. James Church, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany, NY 12209.

Dear Jackie and Cindy,
I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember both Annamay and Aunt Sal from Child's and it was truly a priviledge to have cared for them both. I have only one sister and always remember thinking that I hoped we would stay as close as Annamay and Sal.....they were quite the pair....so devoted to each other.
