Sabine Hedwig Halfar

Halfar, Sabine Hedwig BALLSTON SPA Sabine Hedwig Halfar, 90, of Ballston Spa, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Born in Silesia, Germany, October 23, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Reinhold and Amelia (Spitzer) Reichel. She was married to George F. Halfar on May 30, 1941, until his death in 1993. She was predeceased by two daughters; one son; one great-grand-child; three brothers, one sister. Sabine is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Baerbel and her husband Bernd Ettrich of Malta; grandsons, Brian (Kerry) Ettrich of Hawaii and Kevin (Jennifer) Ettrich of Malta; granddaughters, Trixy (Larry) Sullivan of Ridgeway, S.C., Cathryn Stephenson of Sommerville, S.C. and Nicole (Kenneth) Fielder of Plant City, Fla.; great-granddaughters, Emily and Anna Ettrich and Shaina Simms; and devoted friend, Erwin Bretzel of Athol, N.Y. There are no calling hours. Funeral services are private at the request of the family.
