Kyran Molloy Obituary

Molloy, Hon. Kyran P. TROY Judge Kyran P. Molloy, 74, a resident of Troy and Naples, Fla., entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Born in Troy, he was son of the late Kyran P. Molloy Sr. and Josephine (Nash) Molloy and loving husband for 47 years of Nancy (Bayly) Molloy. Kyran was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Mount Saint Mary's College, Emmitsburg, Md. and Boston College of Law. At the time of his death, he was a practicing attorney in the city of Troy. Early in his career, he was employed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as a conservation officer. Thereafter, he was appointed as a Rensselaer County assistant district attorney, elected to the office of Troy City Police Court Judge and served for many years as a workers' compensation administrative law judge. He was a member of the Rensselaer County and New York State Bar Associations, the Royal Wood Country Club in Naples and formerly a member of Wolferts Roost Country Club in Loudonville. Survivors in addition to his loving wife include his son, K. Timothy Molloy of Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service which will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 138 Twelfth Street, Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. My deepest sypathies to your family on the passing of Kyran. I only learned of it today or I would have come to the funeral.
I knew him for over 20 years, he was the first Workers compensation judge I ever appeared before. A sharp intellect and a lively wit, it was a pleasure to work with him both as a judge and later as a practitioner.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our condolences to your family, from an old childhood friend from 17th Street. I played with Kyran and KT played with my kids, Mark, Jim, Matt and Kevin. We moved to New Port Richey, Fl. but keep contact with the local papers.
