Michael C. Gogats

Gogats, Michael C. EAST GREENBUSH Michael C. Gogats, 92, of East Greenbush, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Simpson, Pa., he had been a resident of the Capital Region for several years. Michael earned his B.S. degree from Newark College of Engineering. He had worked for Simmons Machine & Tool Co. as an engineer for 10 years, was vice president of engineering for Meadville Cryogenics, was general manger of Re Action Motors Rocket plant in Denville, N.J. and worked at Ohio Injector in quality control. He retired from Albany Public Library after 20 years of service. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for 65 years. Predeceased by his parents, Carl and Olga (Koocha) Gogats and is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Susan (Pereksta) Gogats of East Greenbush; a daughter, Diane (Earl) Goudreau of Tucson, Ariz.; a grandson, Vincent J. (Jim) (Donna) Pendo-lino of East Greenbush, a granddaughter, Nicole Goudreau of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. and was great-grandfather of Gina Pendolino. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 2:00 p.m. Thursday from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family has requested that those who wish to remember Michael make contributions to Rensselaer County Search & Rescue, P.O. Box 149, East Greenbush, in his memory.
