Bernice Couture

Couture, Bernice HANNACROIX Bernice Smithwick Couture, 90, of Route 51, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bristol, Conn., Bernice had lived in Hannacroix since 1979. While in Conn., she worked as a proofreader at the Bristol Press. Bernice was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Ravena. She was known for her love of animals, especially dogs. Wife of the late Francois N. Couture; she is survived by a daughter, Calise (and Robert) Shoemaker of Hannacroix; granddaughters, Shannon (and Star Barger) Shoemaker and Tamara (and James) Martin, both of Hannacroix; and great-grandchildren, Lexington Zoch, Chance and Raven Barger, Andrew, Kiernan and Kateri Martin. Funeral 8:00 o'clock Thursday morning from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville and at 9:00 o'clock at St. Patrick's Church, 21 Main St., Ravena, NY 12143. Burial will be in the Stanton Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
