Eleanor M. Marpe

Marpe, Eleanor M. MELROSE Eleanor M. Marpe, age 84, of Hoosick Falls Health Center formerly of Melrose, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at her residence following a long illness. Born in Raymertown, N.Y. February 24, 1924, the daughter of Charles and Marie Diehl Rowland and wife of Heinz Marpe whom she married April 17, 1954. She was a longtime member of the Melrose Methodist Church. She was a bookkeeper and had worked for Montgomery Ward, Watervliet Arsenal, Troytown Shirt Factory and Matzen Construction Co. She was also a former Cub Scout den mother for many years. Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, Donald Marpe and Edward Marpe, both of Melrose; grandchildren, Jessica, Kristopher and Kyle Marpe, all of Blackwood, N.J. Predeceased by a son, Eric and sisters, Arlene Matzen and Gloria Delurey. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghti-coke.
