Ron and I were in Army basic training together and later served in Special Forces. I met him at a SF reunion a few years ago and though he was very sick, we were able to laugh over memories of a particular crazy drill sgt. we both knew and hated. Ron was a brave and good man. I extend my prayers and deepest sympathy for your great loss.
