Dad - tomorrow is your birthday and Sunday is Father's Day - for the 6th time we will celebrate you without your hugs, without your laughter , and without your cooking. I am jealous of all those lucky angels that get to eat your cooking and feel your hugs.
I can't explain it but I know you are not far away. I hear you cheering at the kids events. I feel your strength when I am down. I tell the kids "if PaPa was here he would say..." All the time. They miss you so much - and you would be so proud of them. They are amazing - giving, caring, and try to help others - just like you.
I wait to see you again - not so patiently. I hope you hear us singing happy birthday to you. I hope you feel our love.
Happy Birthday Dad
Happy Fathers Dad
Love you so much
Miss you more than words can say.

It doesn't seem possible for them both to be gone this close together. In a better place now I hope they know that their significance to us here will never change. As far back as I can remember I thought everyone's father worked for the fire department, told bad jokes and wore white undershirts with Dickies. I realize now that I was wrong. It was only our fathers. We were lucky. I remember thinking as a child if anything ever happened to my mom and dad, Aunt Cathi and Uncle Mike would take care of me. I think that's now why I miss him so much. Uncle Mike know that you are loved dearly and I hope that you & my father aren't giving Me-ma & Be-pa too much trouble up there.

Dear Maryann
I am so sorry for the loss of your brother, Michael. I was very shocked to learn of his passing when I returned home yesterday. You know I would have been there with you every step of the way. My heart goes out to you and your family. But I know memories of Michael and your childhood days together will comfort you.
God bless you.

Dear Mary Ann and family:
I was away and just returned late last night. I was shocked when I heard of Michael’s passing. My deepest sympathy and heartfelt sorrow goes out to you and your family during these very difficult times. You have so many good memories of him to sustain you. The two of you shared a special big brother little sis bond when you were young. I remember him teasing you unmercifully or playing the big brother protector and you secretly loving every moment of it. God needed another angel when he called upon your brother to join your Dad. Now you have two watching and guiding you. His laughter, humor and beautiful heart will be a part of him you will keep with you forever. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I only wish I could have been with you the day you received the news, but I take comfort in knowing you have such a loving family and so many good friends. Remember, I love you. God Bless!!!! Annie

Maryann and Bob Cady and the Romano Family,
We were so sorry to hear of the untimely passing of Mike. It is a great loss for a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and exceptional professional man.
He will be missed by his immediate family as well as his many extended families. He left quite an impression on everyone he ever met, one everyone can be very proud of. His legacy will live on for generations due to the tasks he accomplished during his lifetime.

It sure kept all the wolfs away from the door (sob.) Anyway im glad to know you in our adult lives, see u at the ctr. and know Mike is at peace after such a fruitful life. Johnny looked great didn't remember me at all thats cause im so much better looking now lol. Will see u soon love, Judi

My first memory of Mike Romano was as a young boy going with my father to some of the first union meetings. Even at that age I was impressed with the courage and fortitude it took these men to stand up to the Corning machine. Years later i had the honor of working with Mike. Myself, and all the members of the Albany Fire Dept. owe him a world of graditude. I hope his family can take some solace in the fact that he was a first rate person that touched many people. May he rest in peace.

Our hero, Our Papa,
We all miss you so much. It's so hard to think that you really aren't here. It feels like you are going to come walking out of the bathroom, humming your favorite tune. But don't you worry..we all will take great care of Grandma and Enzo. You are in a better place now and even though we all don't want to face the truth you aren't in any more pain and suffering. You were such an inspiration on all of our lives. I want you always to know i will finish high school and go to college just like you always wanted, that is my promise and commitment to you. I know you're watching down on all of us, smiling from ear to ear! We have so much food too, you would be so happy that we all are eating well. That's what us Romanos did was EAT and ate an amazing home cooked meal by you!! Always know that you are in all of our hearts and you made us what we ALL are today. Thank you for fighting as long as you did, we made the best of it.
I will always love you from the bottom of my heart

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
