Mary Kelsey Obituary

Kelsey, Mary Louise ALBANY Mary Louise Kelsey of Albany entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 27, 2008. Born in North Adams, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Richard (Dick) and Florence Walsh. She was the wife of the late Cavan J. Kelsey Jr. for 53 years. Mary Lou was the mother of Theresa Kelsey, Caroline Smith (Henry) and John Kelsey (Elizabeth). She was predeceased by her husband, Cavan and her first born, Kathleen Clark. She was also survived by her sisters, Patricia Young of Boylston, Mass. and Barbara Sokaris of Albany. She was the grandmother of James, Christine, and Scott Clark; Jessica, Sean and Kelsey Smith; Christopher, Andrew, Michael and Annabel Kelsey. She is the great-grandmother of Kathleen (Katie) and Kendall Clark and Yleana Clark; and the sister-in- law of Meldon Kelsey. Mary Lou graduated from the Vincentian Institute and attended Maria College and Junior College of Albany. She was employed by the State University of New York, was secretary to the admissions department at Maria College, and the guidance department of Christian Brothers Academy. Mary Lou was a communicant at St. Teresa of Avila Church and a volunteer in the parish. She was a life member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. Funeral services Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to St. Teresa of Avila Church, Albany at 9:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Mary Louise Kelsey in a special way may send a contribution to St. Teresa of Avila School, 8 Hollywood Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
