Alfred Boniface Obituary

Boniface, Alfred J. EAST GREENBUSH Alfred J. Boniface Jr., 81, of East Greenbush, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born in Albany, he had been a resident of the Capital Region his entire life. Al was a machinist at Sterling Drug in Rensselaer for over 35 years prior to his retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Community Hose Fire Co. in Clinton Heights, a member of the K of C in Averill Park and a decorated combat veteran having served in the Navy during World War II. Predeceased by his parents, Alfred J. Sr. and Marion (Solomon) Boniface; a daughter, Debbie; and a brother, James Boniface. Al is survived by his wife, Mary G. (Bonaventura) Boniface of East Greenbush; two sons, Alfred J. (Carol) Boniface III, and Anthony (Michele) Boniface; three sisters, Pauline Shaw, Jean Springer, and Marion Bender. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grand-children. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Monday from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer and 11:30 a.m. at Church of St. Mary of Clinton Heights where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m.. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. The family has requested that those who wish to remember Al, make contributions to the Recreation Department at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home, 1070 Luther Road, East Greenbush, NY 12061 in his memory.
