Rose Marinello Obituary

Marinello, Rose ALBANY Rose Lazzaro Marinello, 85, of Albany, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center with her beloved family at her side. Mrs. Marinello was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Girolamo and Theresa Lazzaro. She lived for many years in Brooklyn before moving to Florida and then Albany. She was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Albany, enjoyed crocheting with the Granny Squares at the church, and was a member of the Holy Cross Church Seniors. She was also well known for her baking, and enjoyed treating her family and friends to her delicious cookies. Her family will best remember her as a loving mother and grandmother, and a wonderful mother-in-law. Mrs. Marinello was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Marinello, and by her sister, Mary DiLorenzo. She is survived by her sons, Anthony J. Marinello, M.D. (Nina) of Albany, and Robert Marinello (Carol) of Staten Island; her brother, Anthony Lazzaro of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Patrick, Hildy, and Anna Marinello, and James and Danielle Marinello; her extended family, Guy and Hilda Piccini and family; several nieces and nephews; and by good friends in Albany, Brooklyn and Fla. The Marinello family would like to thank the staff of St. Peter's Nursing and Rehab Center, and of the Daughters of Sarah Green Unit for the wonderful care they provided to Rose, especially her evening nurse, Faith. Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Monday morning at 8:15 and from there to St. Margaret Mary's Church, Homestead St., Albany at 9:00. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be held privately at a later date in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Daughters of Sarah Jewish Foundation, 180 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203 or to a charity of your choice.

Dr Marinello and family, We are so sorry for the loss of your mom! We are so sorry we couldn't make the services as we were away at our summer home in Ma. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. Rose was a wonderful lady! You all made her very happy and she was proud of each one of you! Although these are very difficult times remember all the good you shared and let that bring you solace.
