You were blessed with giving and generous parents who opened their doors to us on so many occasions. While saddened, I will continue to cherish the many memories I have of the time spent with them.

Ed, Marie, Megan:
Your parents gave many of us, especially on the hockey team, a home away from home during our time at Union. Their generosity will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with you.

Spending Thanksgiving at your home with my Union hockey teammates and chatting with your dad were some of my fondest memories from my time at Union. While growing up on the other side of the country I got to know my Uncle Ed through just a few visits over the years. Yet I will always remember Ed as a kind man with a friendly and generous spirit about him. He always had a very likeable and positive way about him with all the relatives during the family gatherings. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ed, Marie & Meg,

Your parents were a gift to my life (and many others) that could never have been foreseen. I find myself wanting to quantify their impact, while all I really know is that their caring, supportive friendship was an essential part of my development into adulthood. I know that I have often thought that if one of my own children was lucky enough to come across people like Ed & Joann, I would feel blessed. I know that my parents felt they were a blessing for me!

Fortunately we have shared many great times since we first met 27 years ago. I will miss the easy manner of Ed. The last time I saw him we called and stopped by with about 10 minutes notice....it was not a problem for Ed.

I know that you have all done a remarkable job over the last year taking care of your dad. Take care of yourselves now, and focus on all the great memories.

With my deepest sympathy.

I regret that none of us are able to be with you. Your Dad was one of the finest Catholic men I have ever known and I am proud to have been a part of his family since 1935.

Coworker, mentor and friend, that is what Ed was to me. He was also an inspiration. His dedication to his family, church and community was beyond compare. Ed was one of those persons who knew what needed to be done, and more importantly, how to get things done. While working with him at GE, his leadership was apparent and his enthusiasm was infectious. He was a charismatic leader, the kind that led by example. He never let the bureaucracy or the status quo hamper his efforts to accomplish goals and make things better.

My favorite times with Ed were weekly lunches at Ferrari’s. We had many good times together and I will miss his friendship and good humor. He will never be forgotten.

With deepest sympathy,
