Josephine Murray Obituary

Murray, Josephine MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Josephine Barnes Murray, 93, of Green Street, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at home after a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born February 26, 1915, daughter of the late Frederick and Virginia Souliere Barnes, Josephine attended local schools. Josephine enjoyed going out to dinner, being with her loved ones and was a die hard New York Yankee fan, almost never missing a game on television or radio. She was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville. Josephine was predeceased by her husband, former post office employee Leo P. Murray, who died June 13, 1973; also her two brothers, David J. and Howard D. Barnes. Survivors include her two sons, Michael J. and wife Barbara Murray of Clifton Park and John D. Murray of Stillwater; a daughter, Karen E. Murray of Mechanicville; two grandchildren, Deborah L. Bronson of Clifton Park and Daniel J. Murray of Rexford; along with two great-grandchildren, Bradon and Savannah Bronson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at noon at the Assumption-St. Paul William Street Church, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Remembrances may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, in loving memory of Josephine A. Murray.
