Donald O'Connor Obituary

O'Connor, Donald J. WYNANTSKILL Donald Joseph O'Connor, 75, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Edward and Mildred (Harkness) O'Connor and was a graduate of CBA. Mr. O'Connor was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for the former Schaeffer Brewery and retired from the City of Albany Housing Authority in 1988. Mr. O'Connor was a member of the Sheehey Palmer VFW Post # 6776 and the Lakeview Association on the Great Sacandaga Lake. He was a communicant of St. James Church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was dear friend of Yolanda A. Filippini and her family of Wynantskill; brother of the late Dolores O'Connor; nephew of Anna Mae O'Connor; cousin of Joan (O'Connor) Gaylord, Walter (Mary) Nielson and the late Jack Nielson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Defreestville Fire Dept., 480 N. Greenbush Rd., Renssealer, NY 12144.
