Francis Guillaume Obituary

Guillaume, Francis J. COHOES, N.Y. Francis J. "Frank" Guillaume, 87, beloved husband of the late Rose Farron Guillaume and loving father of Judy (Walter) Wallen of Troy, Carol (Larry) Ferrara of Niskayuna, and Francis (Julie) Guillaume of Dansville, N.Y., died peacefully August 12, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy. Born in Cohoes, Frank was the son of the late Eugene and Clara Clairmont Guillaume and brother of the late Clarence and Wilfred Guillaume. Frank was a veteran of World War II and a popular auto mechanic in the area, retiring from NYS as a motor equipment repairman in 1983. Frank is survived by a brother, Eugene (Norma) Guillaume of Cohoes; grandchildren, Matthew Saplin, Fille Marie Guillaume, Christopher, Robert, and Walter Wallen; four great-grandchildren; dedicated nephew, David; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Frank's life will be observed at 9 a.m. Mass on Friday August 29 at Holy Trinity Church, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. True to his generous nature, Frank has given his body as an Anatomical Gift to Albany Medical College. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in his memory.
