Margaret Sullivan Obituary

Sullivan, Margaret C. ALBANY Margaret "Peggy" C. Sullivan passed into eternal life on August 13, 2008 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born in Albany on September 21, 1922, the daughter of the late Margaret and Francis Quackenbush. Peggy was a graduate of Academy of the Holy Names, Albany, in 1940 and Marymount College, Tarrytown, N.Y. in 1943. Peggy devoted her entire life to her family. In later years, she enjoyed reading, sitting in her chair, going to church, and visits from her children and grandchildren in the home she dearly loved. Peggy was the beloved wife of 63 years to Raymond J. Sullivan, whom she met on a blind date while they were both in college. Cherished mother of Raymond, Jr. (Priscilla) Sullivan of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kathleen Sullivan-Woods of Albany, Maureen Sullivan (John Compani) of Newtonville, James (Susan) Sullivan of Slingerlands, Patricia Sullivan (Phillip Plessass Jr.) of Albany, and Elizabeth (Arthur) Fisher of Albany; cherished grandmother of Matthew Sullivan of San Francisco, Calif., Jennifer Woods of Cape Neddick, Maine, Ryan Woods of Albany, Cara Compani of White Plains, Daniel Compani of Newtonville, Lindsay Sullivan of Slingerlands, Phillip III and Kelly Margaret Plessass of Albany, and Steven and Ashley Fisher of Albany. She was predeceased by her two older brothers, Francis and John Quackenbush. Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Monday morning at 10:00, and from there to Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany at 10:30. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes cemetery, Menands. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Peggy's name to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany, NY.
