Francita A. Daniels

Daniels, Francita A. ALBANY Francita "Cita" Daniels, 83, of Albany, N.Y. passed away peacefully after a long bout with Alzheimer's disease on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Julie Blair Nursing Home in the care of Hospice. Born in Albany on October 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Alease Mackey Brown. She graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in 1944. She was a nurse's aide at Eden Park Nursing Home for 32 years. She was the wife of the late William "Bill" Daniels and longtime companion of the late William "Broadway" Saunders. Cita was a faithful member of Israel A.M.E. Church in Albany and a very devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend. She leaves behind her sons, Clifton (Vivian) Daniels and Kirk (Arlene) Daniels; her daughter, Lynn Daniels; her sisters, Eleanor "Tootsie" Garland and Loretta (Thomas) Myers; and her sister-in-law, Mary Brown. She was predeceased by her brothers, Arnold, Robert, and John Brown; her sister, Marjorie (Edward) Corley; and her brother-in-law, Hoover Garland. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Julie Blair Nursing Home in Albany, Community Hospice, and home aides for their wonderful care and devotion to Cita. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008 at Israel A.M.E. Church, 381 Hamilton Street, Albany. Viewing hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery on Delaware Avenue in Albany. Contributions in her memory may be made to Israel A.M.E. Church.
