William F. Donnelly

Donnelly, William F. SCHODACK William F. Donnelly of Castleton died at his residence on Sunday, August 17, 2008. Born in Albany, he had been a resident of the Capital Region his entire life. William was a lab technician with NYS Department of Health for 35 years and retired in 1982. He was past member of Melvin Roads American Legion Post #1231, and a life member of the Schodack Valley Fire Department and also a commissioner. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy. Predeceased by his parents, William F. and Ester (Kapp) Donnelly Sr.; five brothers Francis, Edward, John, James and Paul. He is survived by his wife Margaret A. (Duers) Donnelly of Schodack; a daughter, Ann E. (Richard) Colvin of Nassau; a son, Paul F. Donnelly of Castleton; a sister, Jane (Edward) Szafran of Greenport; two brothers, Vincent (Joyce) Donnelly of Schodack, Robert (Kay) Donnelly of Castleton; and his sisters-in-law, Agnes and JoAnn Donnelly. Also survived by two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Crystal Colvin; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. and 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Castleton where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday_from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery Schuyler-ville. The family has requested that those who wish to remember William, make memorials to Schodack Valley Fire Dept., 1553 Schodack Valley Road, Castleton, NY 12033 in his memory.
