Bertha Henry Obituary

Henry, Bertha L. ALBANY Bertha L. (Felt) Henry, 90, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 at her residence. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Fannie (Alexander) Felt. Mrs. Henry was a supervisor at the Albany County Court House for 18 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit. She loved to crochet, do ceramics and she was an avid bowler. Wife of the late Harry D. Henry Sr.; mother of Harry D. (Ellen) Henry of Ogunquit, Maine, Betty Jane (Bill) Baker of Rexford, Sandra (Thomas) Chillemi of E. Greenbush, Jerry (Carole) Henry of Feura Bush, Suzanne (John) Brown of Selkirk and the late Larry A. Henry and Ronald L. Henry; mother-in-law of Debbie Henry of Conn. and Patia Henry; sister of Frederick L. Felt of Troy and the late Dorothy Lewis. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 57 Hurlbut St., Albany, NY 12209 would be appreciated.

It is close to a year now that you are gone from us all, and we all still miss you so very much. I get awfully sad sometime when I think of you but, when we get together and talk about you and the good times and the funny thing you always said it does make me laugh.

I just wanted to say HI, and I MISS YOU AN AWFUL LOT. I think about you all the time and miss you more and more with each passing day, I don't care what anyone says it does not get any easier. Angelina graduated this year and was sad that you could not be here to tell her how proud of her you are, like you always did it meant alot to her, but I assured that you were looking down from heaven and could see her and that made her feel a little better.She did quite well with all of the awards and scholarships she graduated on high honor roll. I was planting my flowers today and I was thinking of you and how you used to love the flowers that I would get for you.The tomato plants that I grew from your plants last year look great and they are covered with tomatoes, some of them are as big as tennis balls already. Well once again it is that time of year for planting, and I have your tomato plants in and they are doing great, I just wish you could see them, but maybe you can, you always said you had eyes in the back of your head. :-) I love you Mom and I miss your very much not a day goes by that I do not think about you. It has been eight months since I've heard your voice and I sure do miss all the talks we had on the phone, and all the shopping trips along with going to the casino's. I'am sure you know by now that Uncle Juni has passed away. The way Fred explained it to me, his dead was very peaceful. Well this is the end of an era on your side mom, but you are all together now,and it is just like we always talked about it all comes to a circle. Now you can star the circle all over again, because as you and I know that Silvia Brown said says we all are in our 30's when we go to heaven. So all of you have fun while waiting for us to arrive.

Yesterday, on christmas eve we did celebrate by having Butch and Carole over for lunch at your house, we invited all of the kids but the weather was bad so they all couldn't come. I just wanted to thank you again, today we had another rain storm on the plant and when it was over the sun came out and what a beautiful rainbow I had right over the building I was in, The colors were very vivid, and it made all the people in the area stop and take notice and I told them it was a gift for them from my MOM. Hi Mom
Well today the nest I took from your lilacs in the yard, was dry enough to put into Olivia. I preserved it with clear coat paint so it will last for a good long time. I put it in the tree with a big bright red Cardinal in it, and on the same branch I put a Robin along side of it. I miss you more and more each day, and I want you to know that you are constantly on my mind. I made apple kuchen today, and I thought of you right away and how I always brought some into you, and always heard I don't need that, you are trying to make me fat.:-) I wish I could still hear that, but somehow I know that you are looking down with a smile and shaking your head. Well the wedding was Saturday, and everything went well. I know you were there is spirit, but I took your purse with me. Nicole looked beautiful as you could see. Uncle Junior and Fred did come and they said they had a wonderful time. Fred got up and sang a song and everybody loved his voice. Hi Mom
It has been a few days since I have talked to you, and Sandy is right, I find myself going to the phone to call you atleast two or three times a week. It is very hard for me to get used to that, I miss you very, very much. We are going to stop over to see you and Dad tomorrow morning,just to say we love you guys and miss you with all of our hearts. Tom and I stained the deck today, and all the time I was doing that I was thinking of you and it made the painting go faster, because as you know I hate to paint. Hi Mom,
I just wanted to talk to you before I retired for the night, to let you know that we are coming over this weekend to clean yours and Dads stones. The kids want to help, and Dakota wanted me to let you know that he misses you and loves you very much. Not a day or even an hour goes by that I do not think about you, and Dad, Larry, and Ron.It was a very long day for me so I think I will call it a night and go say my prayers, and talk to you for a little bit before I go to sleep. Well I went back to work today, and everyone I saw asked about you, so I had a lot of time to think about you and share some of your favorite sayings with them, it made me feel a lot better, and a lot closer to you. When I reached my last building, I called you like I did every night before I realized what I did, and then I chuckled when I could hear you laugh and get a kick out it. Went to visit you today and was surprised to see that the date was already put on the stone.

for my children & I you are far away - yet still so deep and near...

much often on my mind and so happily heavy in my heart Gram you are...

for always I'll carry your kindness & strong protective genuine family love and ways...

hearing your jolly laughter and constant smile is of a solid blessing you've given us ALL...

I'd like to send my sincere sympathy to all of the Henry family for your loss. Grandma was a very determined woman who passionately loved her family. Aunt Sandy-you did everything for your mom to make her stay here loving and comfortable...even before she needed you...great job, be proud. Mom-you always treated Grandma like she was your own mother, anything she needed, you were there...what a special daughter-in-law you are. Uncle Butch-I'll always remember seeing you at Grandma's house with the boys...she loved your company, you always made her day. I'm sure we can all take comfort in knowing that Grandma was welcomed into heaven by some very loving arms.
