Virginia Kenna Obituary

Kenna, Virginia B. ALBANY Virginia B. Kenna, age 86, died Sunday, August 17, 2008, at the Teresian House. She was born to Mary and Charles Beinkafner on September 17, 1921 in Delmar, N.Y. She and her late husband, James Kenna, lived in Guilder-land, N.Y. for 37 years where she was a member of St. Madeline Sophie's Catholic Church. She was an avid quilter and did extensive traveling with her husband. She was predeceased by her husband James M. Kenna Sr. and daughter, Eileen K. Landis of Hershey, Pa. Virginia is survived by her children, Nechamah R. Kenna of Feura Bush; son-in-law, William G. Landis of Hershey, James M. Kenna Jr. of Syracuse, Michele K. Martin (Patrick) of Wilmette, Ill., W. Patrick Kenna (Joanie) of Lowers Lake, Calif. Charlene K. Reedy (Patrick) of Buffalo, N.Y., Brian J. Kenna of Ithaca, Ellen T. Kenna of Ballston Spa and Timothy M. Kenna (Sara) of Hood River, Ore.; 21 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, N.Y., Friday, August 22 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Teresian House after 10 a.m. Interment will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation.

Shelly, I want to express my condolences to you and your family. I do have fond memories of your Mom. My dad is also at the Teresian, Rm 323 and I'm up there quite a bit with John, Pat, Sue and my Mom. I will be bringing my son Jimmy to Brockport tomorrow but my Mom will hopefully attend.
