Jessie Hewitt Obituary

HEWITT Jessie Eldred To our neighbors and friends all around, thank you for loving Mom as the special lady that she was, and for the many kindnesses extended to our family in our loss. We will forever be indebted to all of the great women who came into Mom's life when helping hands, kind hearts, joyful spirits and amazing teamwork were needed to care for her over these past 14 years. To have quality of life in one's own home to age 90 is a gift you helped make possible. We are grateful to all of the dedicated medical professionals who took on the challenge of her many complicated illnesses, and most especially to: Dr. Jim Carroll, Village Primary Care, Dr. Scott Rogge, Bennington Cardiology, Dr. Michael Algus, SVMC Pulmonary Medicine, Dr. Stan Dziuban, Cardiothoracic Surgery, St. Peters Hospital, Dr. John LaPenta, Advanced Eyecare, Dr. Kirk Osterland, Bennington Rheumatology, Dr. Geoffrey Gamache, Averill Park, The Petersburg Rescue Squad, The Nursing Staff, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center ICU and West Wing. A special thank you for the way each of you served Mom - for tending to her lovingly. For clearly enjoying her as a part of your day. For your skills and wisdom and for seeing her as a whole person rather than a body part gone wrong. For the partnership that you formed with family to make a difference in her life. We are also grateful to two organizations that stand for dignity and independence: Disability Advocates, Sim Goldman, Independent Living of the Hudson Valley, Vince Reiter With Sincere Appreciation, The Family of Jessie Eldred Hewitt
