So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Our lives crossed briefly during a four year period almost fifty years ago while in high school and to this day I think of him fondly. Bill was an intersting guy and my life is fuller for him having been in it. He will be missed. Deepest condolences to his family.

Lorie and Bill, I am so sorry about your father. I worked with him and Kim and he was always a great guy to be around. He had the Greatest rule while I was working for him with Kim, It was that if we were laughing, we paid him instead of him paying us for the day, and he almost caught us one day! My deepest condolences and know that you are not alone in your time of sadness. Many who knew your dad are thinking of you both and my prayers and thoughts are with you. We have not met, but your dad was #1 and I wanted to pass along my prayers to you both. Eva La Porte (Marbut)

To My Uncle, My God Father, My Friend:
Things will never be the same for me now that you are gone. No matter where you were, one call and you were always right there for me, always. I will never forget your great smile and will miss your wonderful, long stories. Thanks to Kim for telling you she called me, I get comfort in knowing you were thinking of me when I was thinking of you. Thank you also for your great kids who called me too. I will always remember you and you will be in my heart forever.
Love You Uncle Bill....Debbie Mayo

To My Best Friend Bill,

I am so proud that you have shared your life with me and to have you share some of your favorite things:

Favorite Movie: The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight

Favorite TV Show: The Avengers (I remember how you told me that when you were a kid, you carried around an umbrella like John Steed so you might find your Emma Peel, and you did, with Karen)

Favorite Food: Tortellini Alla Panna (I wish I could make it for you today!!)

Favorite Drink (non alcoholic): Diet Black Cherry Soda

Favorite Real Drink: Johnny Walker

Favorite Comic Strip: Gasoline Alley

Bill’s Favorite Quote: “When I win the lottery, I’ll call all my friends and ask to borrow $1,000. Whoever don’t lend me the money will never know that I won!!”

I hope that you are doing one of the things you always wanted to do, sitting back and asking the simple question, “Mustard or Ketchup?”

There is no arbitration involved, you are in heaven.

With love and admiration from your son and brother,

Anthony

Your Friends Forever

Dearest Bill Jr. & Lorrie;

You may never understand why things happen, or when they do, or even the way they do, nonetheless, "it is, what it is". Sometimes there are no words to comfort following the loss of a parent, especially, the loss of a father as wonderful as yours. And sometimes it makes us wonder if there really is a God and if there is a God, why in the world would he bestow upon us a pain so intense that we question our own existence, and we pray for an answer, and when we are alone with no other company but our silence, we wonder, behind the shield of armour that we wear, if we can make it past the pain.
The only strength that I can give you is my silent promise that somehow, someway, your father will guide you both through this.
Remember this, when you feel the slightest brush upon your shoulder, or the gentle breeze upon your cheek, know it is your father, and he is there to guide you both.
And when your heart aches for his presence, and suddenly the pain subsides, know that it is because your father is standing beside you, giving you his strength.
Billy & Lorrie, stand tall, stand proud, through you, your father lives on.

A note from the heart of the Adirondacks. Bill Bowen - The best in the business! Bill was a "gentle giant"....a man who knew his job, and did it well, a man who helped (among others), many North Country residents to rebuild their homes and their lives, following property loss and disaster. Anyone who had the opportunity to know Bill, would tell you of his kindness and generosity, the ways in which he showed his appreciation for the things people did for him, his sense of humor, and his ability to tell stories. His was a life of hard work, and dedication, one whose life reached out to improve the lives of others. He was one of a kind, and will be greatly missed!

Wilbur,
Twenty years ago you came into our lives. You picked us up at our lowest and made us the luckiest people on earth. For that I will be forever thankful. You taught us how to laugh, cry, share, love, and be the best we could be!! Anyone can be a father but you showed us the true meaning of a dad!!!
Thank you for walking me down the isle on the happiest day of my life and making all of my dreams come true. Thank you for all of the laughs and tears. Thank you for waking us up with pots and pans in the morning with those memorable tunes you always sang!! My life is the way it is because of you!!! You will forever live in my heart and soul! We miss you so much. THANK YOU DADDY!!!

Until we meet again!! Love Always (143)

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
