Rita M. Avarello

Avarello, Rita M. WATERFORD Rita M. Avarello, 75, of 2nd St., died Monday, October 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Fort Ann, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Rock Noel. She was educated in schools in Brooklyn and moved to Waterford in 1959. Rita was devoted to St. Jude Children's Program and sponsored many children through the program. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joseph A. Avarello; her children, Joseph C. Avarello, Debra A. Russell, both of Waterford, and Mary E. Varcasio of Troy. She was sister of Elizabeth "Mae" Wick of Saugerties and F. Alan Noel of Fla.; and grandmother of Tonya Lubas, Courtney Russell, Danielle Varcasio, Michael J. Russell and Tony Varcasio. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 9 from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home office.
