Barbara McKay Obituary

McKay, Barbara H. GRAFTON, N.Y. Barbara H. McKay, 75, of Spring Hill, Fla. and Taconic Lake, Grafton, passed away at Hernando Pasco Hospice on Sunday, October 26, 2008 after a brief illness. She was born in Troy on December 9, 1932 and graduated from Heatly High School, class of 1950 and the Nashua School of Business. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Mary (Kiestlinger) Blanchard. Barbara worked at Cohoes Manufacturing in Cohoes and McKay Brothers Motors in Troy. Barbara and her husband, Bob, enjoyed golfing, card playing, traveling and spending their summers at Taconic Lake with their family. Barbara was a longtime member of Troy Country Club and Taconic Lake Association. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Robert (Bob) McKay of Spring Hill; her loving children, David McKay of Atlanta, Ga., Kathleen Robetor (Paul) of Latham and Robert McKay Jr. of Cohoes; and her adoring grandchildren, Tyler McKay, Jessica and Kaitlyn Robetor, and Jaime McKay. Barbara is also survived by her brother, Warren (Benny) Blanchard and many loving relatives and dear friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Latham, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Kenneth Paulli, O.F.M. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to Hernando Pasco Hospice, Brook Plaza, 698 S.
