Arthur Bibb Obituary

Bibb, Arthur Jr. DDS TROY Arthur Bibb Jr. DDS, 90, formerly of Brunswick Hills, died Monday, October 27, 2008 at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a brief illness. Born in Troy, he was son of the late Arthur Bibb Sr. and Mina (Anker) Bibb and husband of the late Marion (Mackay) Bibb. He resided in the Troy area all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of Michigan where he received his doctor of dental surgery degree. He was a practicing dentist for 55 years in Troy, retiring in June of 1999. Dr. Bibb was a member of the medical dental staff of Samaritan Hospital, past president of the Troy Lions Club, a member of the Troy Salvation Army Advisory Board, Country Club of Troy, the American Dental Association and the Third District Dental Society. He was also grand marshall of the Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Dental Fraternity in Ann Arbor, Mich., a member of the board of directors of Beechwood Retirement Community of Northeast Health and a longtime member of the Memorial and Hope United Methodist Churches. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as first lieutenant in the 10th Mountain Division, U.S. Dental Corps. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Lenwood) Ladd of Palm Coast, Fla. and Gail (Thomas) Vogel of Latham; and four grandchildren, Derek (Joy) Ladd of Fall River, Mass., Darcy Ladd of Jacksonville, Fla., Stacy Vogel of Latham and Megan Vogel of Latham. Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.
