To the Keefe and Mai Families,
Please accept my condolences on your loss. I just received my Alumni magazine and I was completely stunned and saddened when I saw Sheila's name on that page.
I met Sheila during my Senior year at New Paltz and she was someone I really enjoyed being around each day. As I look back, I can see her big smile and hear her great laugh which became part of my daily life. She was so full of life and always great to be around. I am truly truly glad that she and I got to know one another.

To the Keefe/Mai Families,
Please accept my late condolenses. It wasn't until yesterday that I found out about this sad news, when i received my alumni news letter. I attended the College of New Paltz with Sheila. Though the years have passed, I can vividly remember her warm smile and kind friendship. Though we lost touch, I always thought of her as a good friend. You and your families in my thoughts and prayers

Steve, Debbie, Dianna,
I know this is and will continue to be a difficult time for you. Sheila would be proud of the way you are looking after one another -a true testimony of the love and support you share, and much of what Sheila, no doubt, loved about being part of such a special family. Chuck and I were honored to be a part of her life, and her death. We'll never forget her.
We're thinking of you....

Steve, Jim, and the entire Keefe-Mai family:
Words cannot begin to express my sympathy for your loss. Although it had been years since we’d talked, Sheila had been my connection to all of the Keveny gossip. My fondest memory of Sheila was her glowing smile, which could almost be seen from the other end of the hall. Sheila’s charismatic personality made her a class favorite, and her friendship made you a better person.
She may be gone, but I’ll bet there are more smiles in heaven! She was truly one of kind!

I'll always remember Sheila as my best friend in grade school, St. Marie's and part of St. Agnes. Seems like forever ago but when I think back I always remember her smiling and laughing. We would often get in to trouble for laughing too much during class. :) It was worth it. I wish God would make more people like her!! I'll miss her, always.

Dear Jim and family,
I was so sorry to hear about Sheila. I still remember her from St. Agnes when we had basketball practices in the lyceum-she was a few years older and was on the Junior A team with Kara and my cousin Annemarie and I were on the B team coached by Mr. Maloney. Sheila was the nicest, sweetest, funniest girl back then and sounds like she grew into a tremendous, loving, beautiful woman. My heart goes out to you all.
God Bless,

Steven and family, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have great memories of her spending time with my family in Washington DC. Becoming friends instead of just long-distance cousins who would only see each other once or twice a decade. During my time in NY (1984-85), when we would carpool to college, were some of the best memories I have of her. I will miss her.

Sheila joined the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association in January of 2000 as Advertising Manager. Within six months she was promoted to the position of Convention Manager where she worked until May of 2004 when she left the NRLA briefly due to illness. She returned to the association in the position of Webmaster/Executive Assistant where she worked until May of 2006.
Sheila was a ball of sunshine to all that knew her. In the retail lumber industry, her eternal optimism, wicked sense of humor and odd attraction to the famous George Bush, Barry Manilow, and Tony Bennet made her especially loveable to us all. I will think of Sheila always, but especially on Halloween which she enthusiastically celebrated. We will miss her dearly.
My prayers go out to Steven and the entire Mai and O’Keefe family. She loved you all dearly and spoke of you often.

To Steve,Rita,Harry, Louie,Maryanne, KayKay,Jimmy and the rest of the family! I already feel the hole in my life without Sheila. Sheila and I have been each others side kicks since we were kids and have always looked out for one another. I have no doubt that Sheila is looking over all of us right now trying to help us all deal with this tremendous loss in any way she can. Look for the beautiful sunrise/sunsets and just that warm comforting feeling that you get...that will be Sheila reaching out to us. Sheila is now at peace and no longering suffering from this nasty illness. We all need to remember that to try and give us some comfort.
I am thankful for all the fantastic memories I have with Sheila. I will use those to try and give myself some peace with this situation.

Although the Sheila being sister to my sister-in-law Kathy, I didn't know her well. But what I did know is that she had a pure spirit that eminated from her very being every time I saw her. I take comfort, and encourage the family to as well, that Sheila is a precious child of God and is at home in her Heavenly Father's arms today. Her life remains eternal and her spirit more pure than we could have ever known here. She is the apple of God's eye. And to the family, I pray His peace beyond understanding for each of you and that you celebrate her precious life throughout the remainder of your own. May God bless you even in the midst of your sorrow. I love you all!
