Valmore Sausville Obituary

Sausville, Valmore G. COHOES Valmore G. Sausville, 98, of Columbia St., entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2007 at the Eddy Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes after a long illness. Born in Cohoes, where he lived all his life, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Elizabeth Davignon Sausville and husband of the late Mary Gain Sausville. Val was educated at St. Joseph's Academy in Cohoes and the Allen School of Commerce in Troy. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Sausville was employed by the state of N.Y. for 40 years in the department of audit and control for 25 years. He retired in 1972 after 15 years of service with the N.Y. State Court of Appeals as a confidential recorder. Val was a communicant of the Holy Trinity Parish and was a member of the former St. Agnes Parish, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Marie Sausville and her husband Frederick T. Weis of Phoenixville, Pa.; several nephews, Ronald R. Sausville of Cohoes, Robert T. Sausville Sr. of Watervliet; a niece, Mary Jane Sausville (Douglas) Hotaling of Willis, Mich.; and several cousins, Bonita (Sherburne III) Hill of Latham, Lanette (Robert) Wese-man of Clifton Park, Leamarie (Joseph) Amorosi of Clifton Park and Jamie Hill of Latham. He is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral from the Stanton-Farrell Funeral Home, 326 Columbia St., Cohoes on Monday morning at 8:30 and at Holy Trinity Parish, Vliet Blvd. at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations to the Maryknoll Fathers, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0302 or Holy Trinity Parish, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, NY 12047 in memory of Val would be appreciated.
