Marta, I was saddened to read of Bob's death. I worked with Bob while teaching at SUNYA in the 1970's and 80's. He was a true gentleman and valued the close relationships he had with his students. Truly a gifted educator who cared. I'm sure you will miss him. Bob Christiansen

Marta, I am so sorry to read of Bob's passing. He was such a gentle man. My mother, Margaret Huffmire, thought very highly of Bob; not only as her boss at SUNY, but as a friend. It is with sadness I will convey this news to her. She remains in Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Andersen's death. I also was a member of the class of 1956 at Voorheesville. I am very glad we were able to be in his company at our 50th reunion. Many fond memories were shared with him on that day.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the Family of Mr. Andersen.
Mr. Andersen was a wonderful teacher and a true gentleman. He gave so much of himself to his students. We are all much better because of him. I am proud to have known him.
My prayers go out to his family and friends.

I knew Bob Andersen in the 1980's-1990's when we were both involved with the Literacy Volunteers organization in Troy. He was very devoted to work of our group and supported the program in many ways. He was a true gentleman.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time.

To the family and relatives of Mr. Andersen, I want to express my deepest sympathies. First, Mr. David Martin, and now, Mr. Andersen. The Class of '56 has lost two giants in field of education. How fortunate I feel to have had the best of the best as my teachers at Voorheesville Central High School. History was my weakest subject and struggle as I might, Mr. Andersen was my biggest supporter and cheerleader. He always fiercely encouraged his students with the "can do" attitude. They don't come any better than Mr. Andersen. He was a gentle, soft-mannered man, but not to be mistaken for a "pushover". Quick to share his appreciation for music, he exposed students to its variety of beautiful compositions and melodies. Any student activity that expanded knowledge, or built character, sociability and self-esteem, he was there. He will be sorely missed but I'm sure the Good Lord has greeted him with open arms for all the goodness he has instilled in the life of others. May you be comforted by His Holy Grace in your grievous loss. With deep sorrow,
