John Jasiewicz Obituary

Jasiewicz, John F. SCHODACK John F. Jasiewicz "Jaz", 66, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, October 25, 2007, at his home after a long illness. Born in Albany, August 12, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jessica (Krzykow-ski) Jasiewicz. Until his illness, he worked at Tess' Lark Tavern for 25 years where he formed many friendships. Prior to that, he was a mechanic at Chapman's for 23 years. He is survived by five children, John (Jeannie) and his children John, Jenna and Jacob, James (Tammy) and their children James and Justin, Theresa McCabe (Michael) and their children John and Daniel, Janice Galazzo (Sal) and Thomas (Amy) and their children Caroline and Jacqueline; two brothers, Joseph Jasiewicz and Francis Newman and five sisters, Connie Jasiewicz-Unser, Marlene Poulopoulus, Eleanor DeJesus, Mary Rodriguez and Karen DeJesus; many nieces and nephews, several aunts and an uncle. He was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Bacon and Geraldine Campione. The family would like to personally thank all the caregivers and friends who assisted Jaz over the last few months, allowing him to remain in his own home as he wanted. Jaz has donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program of the Albany Medical College, therefore, a memorial service will be held at Holy Family Parish, 283 Central Ave., Albany on Sunday, October 28 at 4 p.m. Following the service, family and friends are invited to Tess' Lark Tavern for a toast to Jaz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer or the charity of one's choice.

To John's family, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, but remember that John is in a better place and not suffering anymore. I work with Francis (my good friend). My father Ken Hoffman worked at the post office with Marlene. I knew John from Chapman's garage, he worked with my Uncles, Robert(Shorty) Hoffman and Art(Buddy)Avery. He was a very nice person and I'm sure he will be greatly missed. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
