Alice F. Keegan

Keegan, Alice F. TROY Alice F. Keegan, of Troy, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 27, 2007 in the loving comfort of her family at her son Peter's residence in Scotia. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice McDaniel Fitzgerald and the beloved wife of the late James G. Keegan, Sr., who died in 1977. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School (1933) and Russell Sage College (1937). Mrs. Keegan was a retired teacher having taught at School 12 in Troy. During World War II, she had been employed by the New York State Department of Welfare. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church, a member of the New York State Teachers Association and the Illium Club. Devoted mother of James G. Keegan Jr. (Mary) of Troy, Mary K. Penarczyk (Joseph) of Herndon, Va. and Peter Keegan (Beverly) of Scotia; grandmother of Jennifer Marine of Lake Forest, Calif., Matthew Penarczyk of Sammamish, Wash., Anne Schiff and Sara Penarczyk, both of Washington, DC, Peter Keegan, Jr. of Mechanicville, Kirsten Nichter of Scotia and Katie Keegan of Manhattan, N.Y.; great-grandmother of Lucy Marine, Elle and Joseph Penarczyk, Conor and Madison Keegan and Aidan, Morgan and Alice Nichter; step-great-grandmother of John and Courtney Traver, and sister of William B. Fitzgerald (Jean) of Albany. Funeral will be held on Tuesday morning at 8:45 from the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & San-vidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, thence to Our Lady of Victory Church, Corner of North Lake Avenue and Marshland Court, Troy, where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
