Morris Hoffman Obituary

Hoffman, Morris HIGHLAND VILLAGE, Texas Morris Hoffman, age 93, of Highland Village, died on Thursday, October 25, 2007 in Highland Village. Mr. Hoffman was born in NYC in 1914. He spent his entire adult life in the garment industry, specifically in the design and manufacturing of ladies fashions. He moved to Troy, N.Y. in 1950 to take advantage of an opportunity with a company in Mechanicville, N.Y. and remained in Troy until his retirement in 1978. He and his wife Lucy moved to Ariz. where they resided until her passing in 1985. He then moved back to his beloved Troy until moving to Texas last March. He was a member of Temple Beth El in Troy since 1951. He was close to and very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the greatest and most loyal New York Yankee fan from the time he was a little boy to the very end of his life. Morris was in Yankee Stadium the day Lou Gehrig gave his famous retirement. Morris was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Lucy, who passed away in 1985 and his son, Charles, who passed away in 2003. He is survived by his son Bill, and daughter, Fran; his two daughters-in-law, Jacqy Hoffman and Beverly Hoffman; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services at Temple Beth El, 411 Hoosick Street in Troy on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Beth El Cemetery on Belle Avenue in Troy. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or Vitas Hospice 2501 Parkview Drive Suite 600, Forth Worth, Texas 76102.
