Marvin Cohen Obituary

Cohen, Marvin M. ALBANY Marvin M. Cohen, age 72, of Orlando Avenue in Albany, went to God on the 18th day of Heshvan, 5768 (October 29, 2007) at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mr. Cohen was born in Albany and resided there all of his life. He was a well known realtor in the Capital District area for many years and was associated with Realty USA at the time of his passing. He was a member of the Greater Capital Association of Realtors Inc., NYS Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. He was a longtime member of Temple Israel in Albany and a member of Albany City Lodge #540 Knights of Pythias. He is survived by his children, Jafree Cohen, who was raised in Albany and lives in Israel, and Susan Eastman and her husband Troy of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandfather of Justin and Trevor Eastman. He also leaves many loving cousins and dear and devoted friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruthann Cohen and a special aunt, Dorothy Caplan. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Lawrence Garbo and staff as well as the staff of the intensive care unit at St. Peter's Hospital for the kind and wonderful care extended to Marvin throughout his illness. Services at Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Avenue, Albany on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery Guilderland, N.Y. The period of mourning will be observed at 105 Orlando Avenue in Albany following the service of interment with a minyan service on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. The period of mourning will also be observed on Thursday with a minyan at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday evening with a minyan at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louis, Elsie B. and Ruthann Cohen Fund c/o Temple Israel or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Upstate NY, 6 Automation Lane, Albany, NY 12205.

Marv will be missed my many. I know that I will always remember Marv. We've been great friends for for almost 30 years, and had worked together for over 20 years. Marv & your family will be in my prayers.

I had the honer of meeting Marv two weeks ago in St Peter's Hospital,we were room mates.
I really enjoyed my converstions with him. He was a great man.
