Eileen Lobel Obituary

Lobel, Eileen SCHENECTADY Eileen (Betty) Drooz Lobel, age 81, of Avenue B in Schenectady, N.Y., died Saturday morning, November 10, 2007 at the University Medical Center in Tamarac, Fla. Mrs. Lobel was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Merenberg Drooz. She resided in Schenectady for most of her life. She was a member of Congregation Gates of Heaven and their sisterhood as well as Hadassah. She had been employed at the Navy Depot in Schenectady during World War II. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Arthur A. Lobel, and two sons, Dr. Steven Lobel of Schenectady, N.Y. and Joseph Lobel and his wife Sandra of Scotia, N.Y.; sister of Frances Kudon Lotstein of Slingerlands, N.Y.; grandmother of Parker Lobel and Wayne Machia; great-grand-mother of Aiden. Services at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue in Schenectady on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Workmen's Circle Cemetery in Rotterdam, N.Y. The period of mourning will be observed at the Lobel residence, 1613 Avenue B in Schenectady, N.Y. on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Memorial contributions in memory of Eileen may be made to the Kidney Foundation of NENY, 23 Computer Drive East, Albany, NY 12205.
