Helen Helnarski Obituary

Helnarski, Helen COHOES Helen Helnarski, 87, of Cohoes, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Albert Wujciech and Anna Gruszka Brzoza and wife of the late Stanley S. Helnarski. Helen was a life long resident of Cohoes and attended the Cohoes Schools. She was employed for 26 years as a shirt inspector with Troy District Shirt Company, retiring in 1972. Helen was dedicated to her family and home. She was very proud of her well manicured lawn and enjoyed spending time in her garden. One of Helen's favorite daily pastimes was her hourly phone conversations her best friend Lill Rainville. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Cohoes and member of the Ladies Rosary Society. She is survived by her loving grandnieces, Barbara (Scott) DeFruscio of Stillwater and Lori Helnarski Jones of Oak Ridge, Tenn. and nephew, Michael J. Helnarski, Jr. of Troy; great-grandnieces and nephews, Scotty and Stacie DeFruscio and Christopher and Connor Jones; sister Adele Aramata of Mass.; her special friend Lill and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her siblings, Stanley Brady, Josephine Mazur and Mildred Renaud and her niece Jean Koper. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Michael's Church Cohoes at 10:00. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m.

Aunt Helen,

I am really going to miss you. I enjoyed my 18 years of you in my life. Sorry I couldn't be there with you, but I'll think of you often. Rest in Peace. Tell my grandma I said hello and be my guide with her. I love you.
