Joseph Hauser Obituary

Hauser, Joseph W. Jr. ALBANY Joseph W. Hauser Jr., 79, died on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a lifetime Albany resident and was born to the late Joseph W. Sr. and Stacia Hauser. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Florence E. (Barlow) Hauser on November 8, 2001 and his youngest daughter, JoAnn Stokes on June 17, 2007. Joe was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as a cook aboard mine sweepers and auxiliary salvage and repair ships. He worked for many years at Williams Press as the superintendent of the composing room. After that he worked at several Albany car dealerships as a salesman. He was a member the Knights of St. John International and served as the supreme secretary and was a past president of the Albany Bowling Association. He was devoted to his family, friends and church. Joseph is survived by his children, Margaret Hunter and her husband George, Joseph W. Hauser III and his wife Candy, and Mary Reedy and her husband Tom; his son-in-law, Bruce Stokes; and his sister, Marion Wogatske. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Margaret and his brother, Jack. Funeral services will be on Wednesday morning at 9:45 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
