Irene Porter

Porter, Irene W. ALBANY Irene W. Porter, 88, died November 11, 2007 at the Teresian House following a long illness. A lifetime Albany resident, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of Herbert H. and Mille P. Winne. Irene was predeceased by her only child, Patricia A. (John) Mulvey. Mrs. Porter was educated at PS #19, Albany High and was a graduate of Albany Business College. She worked for Eastern Tablet and spent over 30 years working for the Council of Community Services, retiring as office manager in 1981. Irene loved to travel with her friends and visited such places as England, France, Mexico, Greece, Egypt, Brazil, Yugoslavia and many sites in the USA. Irene was devoted to her family and is survived by her grandchildren, Sean K. (Jude) Mulvey of East Greenbush, Janice M. (Daniel) Keating of Clifton Park, and Lt. Col. Heather L. (Bruce) Buono of Alexandria, Va.; and her four great-grandchildren, Kevin and Teresa Mulvey and Brendan and Anna Keating; her son-in-law, John K. (Janet) Mulvey; and her cousin, Irene Wilsey. Funeral services Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in the McVeigh Funeral Home, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Teresian House in Irene's memory.
