Raffaele Carofano Obituary

Carofano, Raffaele ALBANY Raffaele Carofano, 70, died Monday, November 12, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cervinara, Italy, he was the son of the late Michele and Carmela Russo Carofano. Raffaele owned and operated several pizza shops and restaurants in the Albany area, and had worked for the NYS Office of General Services. He was the beloved husband of Filomena Daddio Carofano; dear father of Antonio Carofano of Annapolis, Md, Michael Caro-fano of Albany, Carmela Moore and her husband Sean of North Greenbush and Domenica Carofano of Albany; he is survived by several grandchildren, four sisters in Italy, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 10:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Raffaele in a special way may send a contribution to Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206 or Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.

Carmela and family,

I'm so very sorry to learn of the passing of your father. When I left the Capitol bldg. Raffael was one of the people I knew I would miss. Each day I looked forward to hearing his whistling in the hallway and chatting with him. He was always smiling, which made me smile. It's memories like this that can comfort us during such trying times. To the carofano family,
Sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Raffaele having the pizza shop on central ave. and my sisters and myself would come in almost everyday to eat a slice of pizza and play video games. Tony, Mike and Carmela were always working side by side with their dad. God bless everyone and if there's anything we can do for you just get in touch with us.
