Anne Spickler Obituary

Spickler, Anne MECHANICVILLE Anne Richards Spickler, 85, of East St., Riverside, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, following a brief illness. Born in Riverside, March 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Wiersbowiz Rychcik. Anne was a homemaker and had worked for many years as a clerk for the former F.W. Woolworth Co. in Mechanicville. She was a former member of the Henry F. Lefko American Legion Post and the Riverside Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Mechanicville Senior Citizens group. Anne enjoyed traveling and loved to dance and listen to polka music. Anne was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Edward J. Spickler, who died in 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was predeceased by her brothers John, Walt, Bernard and Edward "Bates" Richards and sisters, Julia Pruso and Patricia Yaksta. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Douglas Kenyon of Henderson, Nev.; her niece, Virginia Yaksta Foley; companion, Joe Laurenzo; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul Church, North Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Remembrances may be made to either Community Hospice of Saratoga or the Assumption-St. Paul Church Endowment Fund, in loving memory of Anne Richards Spickler.
