James W. Hughes

Hughes, James W. NORTH ALBANY James W. "Hugo" Hughes, age 57, entered into eternal life Thursday, November 22, 2007. Born in Albany, he was a lifelong area resident. Jim was a graduate of Albany High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, a member of the North Albany American Legion Post 1610, and a member of the North Albany Limmericks. Jim was a proud, strong-willed Irishman who will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. He enjoyed summers at the Saratoga Race Track and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Son of Margaret White Hughes and the late Robert Hughes. Husband of Lynn Fung; loving father of Nicholas Yi Hughes of Colonie; beloved brother of Robert Hughes, and Donald Hughes and his wife Linda; proud uncle of Jenna L. Hughes, Justin R. Hughes, Sidney Ling, Simon Ling, Chene Woods, Keaton Woods, Olivia Fung, Kieran Fung, and Pippa Fung. Jim is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Albany Memorial Hospital for their many acts of kindness. Funeral services will be held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8 Dudley Heights (Northern Blvd.), Albany, Tuesday morning at 8:15 a.m. and 9 o'clock at the Church of the Sacred Heart in North Albany. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home Monday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Colonie EMS, 312 Wolf Road, Albany, NY 12205.
