Julia Michel Obituary

Michel, Julia ALBANY, N.Y. Julia Rosenthal Michel, age 99, of the Ohav Shalom Apartments in Albany, died Wednesday evening, November 28, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Julia was born in NYC and has been a Capital District resident most of her life. She had been employed for many years as a supervisor for the NYS Department of Mental Health. She was a member of Temple Israel in Albany. Mrs. Michel had a great love for opera and classical music. She will be remembered for her generosity and kindness as well as the love and devotion she had for her family. She was married to Daniel Michel, an attorney from Troy, N.Y., until his passing. She is survived by her sister, Ida Chait of Albany; loving aunt of Elaine Chait of Albany, Suzanne Chait-Magenheim and her husband Lawrence of NYC and Eugene Frost. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves a friend Anna Bertrand. She was predeceased by five siblings and her parents, Samuel and Rebecca Rosenthal. Services at the Levine Mem-orial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany, on Sunday Dec-ember 2, 2007 at 12 noon. Inter-ment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, N.Y. The period of mourning will follow the service of interment at the Ohav Shalom Apartments, 115 New Krumkill Road, Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
