Alvin Brown Obituary

Brown, Alvin ALBANY Alvin Brown, of Weis Rd., Albany, N.Y., died November 27, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 57. Born on March 23, 1950, in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alvin Brown and Ann Peterson Brown. Mr. Brown proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed as a dormitory supervisor for the Glenmont Job Corps in Glenmont, N.Y. Alvin had a love for life and loved to make people smile. He enjoyed music especially, Johnny Mathis and enjoyed watching football. Alvin was always pursuing furthering his education. Survivors include his fianc?e, Marie E. Francis; five brothers, Hugh Brown and Harvey Hale of Saratoga Springs, Leo Brown of Haverstraw, N.Y., Leslie Brown of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Ronald Brown of Albany, N.Y.; one sister, Loretta Parker of Saratoga Springs; four stepchildren, Lisa, Kim, Andrea and Tatyana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday at the Bethesda Episcopal Church, 41 Washington St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 at 11:00. Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Albany, NY 12211.
