Katherine E. Bruce Swota

Swota, Katherine E. WATERVLIET Katherine E. Bruce Swota, 88, formerly of Boght Rd., died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Peter Swota who died in 1971. Born in Warrensburg on June 9, 1919, she was the daughter of the late George M. and Augusta Fourier Bruce. Mrs. Swota moved to Watervliet in 1951 and was employed by the Norton Company as a machine operator in the tape division before retiring in the 1980's. She was also a homemaker and was a member of the former First Wesleyan Church in Watervliet. She is survived by her children, Peter J. (Gail) Swota of Halfmoon, Robert A. (Carol) Swota of Ballston Lake, Dawn (Stephen) Hemeon of Powhatan, Va. and Richard A. (Anne Marie) Swota of Clifton Park; her siblings, Freida Hall of Glens Falls and James Bruce of Warrensburg; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
