Mary Josephine Nash

Mary Nash Obituary

Nash, Mary Josephine GLENMONT Mary Josephine Nash, 85, died on December 8, 2007 after a 3 1/2 year battle with lung cancer. Mary was born in Oswego, N.Y. to the late Henry and Elizabeth Dorgan Fleischman. Mary was the wife of the late William J. Nash who predeceased her in 2000. She moved to Glenmont in 1959, where she raised six children. Mary worked for Farm Family in Glenmont and the Big N. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar, where she was active in sewing and embroidering the christening robes for babies and crocheting lap robes for the elderly. Mary loved to read and had a witty and sharp mind until her death. Her thirst for knowledge always amazed us. Mary's family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Lyman for his excellent care given to Mary and the Hospice of Albany team including Shelly, Joel, Adrienne and especially Robaire for her gentile, kind and loving care of Mom in her last months. Mary is the mother of William Nash (Lisa Faist) of Slingerlands, Pat Nash of Rensselaerville, Marianne Hoebel (Richard) of Lenox Dale, Mass., Mark Nash of Houston, Texas; John Cole Sr., son-in-law; Kristina Nash, daughter-in-law. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Cole, in 2004 and a son, Rick Nash, in 2007. She is the dear sister of Henry Fleischman of East Syracuse, Edward Fleischman of Cicero, N.Y. and the late Helen, John, Dyke, Bill and Peter Fleischman. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Friends may call Monday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Durant Funeral Home, 741 Delaware Ave., Delmar. Interment, Memory's Garden. The family wish contributions in Mary's name be sent to either St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, 12054 or to Community Hospice of Albany Co., 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, 12205.
