Joan Glenn Obituary

Glenn, Joan SCHENECTADY Joan Lennon Glenn, 71, of the Glendale Nursing Home, formerly of Glenwood Boulevard, died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the nursing home. Mrs. Glenn was born in Schenectady to the late Michael and Marguerite Anne Boylan Lennon and lived in the Schenectady area all of her life. Mrs. Glenn worked as a billing clerk at St. Clare's Hospital for 23 years, retiring in 1997. Mrs. Glenn was a member and past president of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians in Schenectady and a member of the Tiny Treasures of Elnora Miniature Club. She also volunteered as an usher at Proctor's Theatre for 12 years. Mrs. Glenn was predeceased by her husband, James E. Glenn Sr. He died September 5, of this year. Mrs. Glenn was also predeceased by her stepmother, Eulalia Lennon. She is survivied by three children, James E. Glenn Jr. of Washington, D.C., Michael P. (Janis) Glenn of Glenville and Marguerite Ann "Peggy" (Joe)_Osborne of Guilderland; one sister, Patricia Exner of Rotterdam; two grandchildren, Jennifer Glenn of Glenville and Emma Osborne of Guilderland. Mrs. Glenn's family would like to thank the C3 nursing staff at Glendale for the kindness they showed their mother. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral, Thursday morning at 9:15 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union Street, and at 10:00 at St. Helen's Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home. The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will meet at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 5:30 to conduct a service. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ancient Order of Hibernians, 1748 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 85 Watervliet Avenue, Albany, NY 12206.
