Barbara Herrmann Obituary

Herrmann, Barbara (Reich) EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. Barbara Herrmann, 68, of McKnight Road, East Montpelier, died at home on December 6, 2007. She was born on March 14, 1939 in Schenectady, N.Y., the daughter of Doris Cochrane Reich and George A. Reich. She attended the Emma Willard School in Troy, N.Y., was graduated from the Albany Academy for Girls, then attended Elmira College, and was graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor of science in nursing. After working in the public health field for a few years, she earned a master's degree in public health nursing from Boston College and later, a second master's degree in health services administration from Harvard University's School of Public Health. On August 7, 1965, she married Richard W. Herrmann. She leaves her husband, Richard, her son, William, of Hinesburg, Vt.; her brother, George Reich, of Glen Elynn, Ill.; her sister, Laurie Reich Kiely of Bristol, R.I. Her memorial service will take place at Christ Church, Mont-pelier, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice and to the ALS Society.
