Josephine Castle Obituary

Castle, Josephine ALBANY Josephine (Marchese) Castle, 83, passed away December 10, 2007 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 15, 1924 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Salvadore and Theresa Marchese and the sister of the late Nicholas and Joseph Marchese. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrolman Frank W. Castle, who was killed in the line of duty with the Albany Police Department in 1961. She was a graduate of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception school. Mrs. Castle was a buyer for David's Department Store during the early years of her retail career. She went on to manage the Casual Set clothing store in Albany, N.Y. Her career in retail spanned over a 30-year period. Josephine was an avid and talented cook who learned from her mother. She loved her visits to the ocean but, most of all, she loved the time spent with her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Terry Bardwell and Linda Zeoli; and her beloved son-in-law, Mickey Zeoli, all of Albany; five grandchildren, Tiffany Petreikis (Craig), Frank Zeoli (Nancy), Bill Bardwell Jr. (Caroline Benedict), Maggie Delvalle (Moses), Brena Bardwell (Ken Messier); and nine great-grandchildren with a new great-granddaughter expected next year. She is also survived by her childhood best friend of 70 years, Angie Urbano. The family would like to thank her doctor and close friend, Dr. Tricia Pelnik-Fecko for her unwavering care and loving support, and Courtney Gambino, RN for her compassion and respect during her stay in the Albany Medical Center MICU. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany on Friday morning at 10:30. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Magin and Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Avenue, Albany on Thursday evening from 4-8. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, N.Y.

Dear Family,
I do not know what to say. All of my father's family is now gone. I am sorry for your, loss as I know that you loved your mother (grandmother/greatgrandmother) very much and she... you all. You were very luck to have had her so long in your lives and that she got to see all of her grandchildren and most of her great-grandchildren. I know you all will miss her. I will continue to keep her in my prays and hope that she and my father have given each other a big hug and kiss by now. Take care of each other, Debey

Aunt Jo

What a feast must have awaited you in heaven - being reunited with your parents, Nicky and Joey, and your beloved Brud. I know that Johnny, Willie, May & Mike, Julie & Frank, Hannah & Steve, Ann & Harold, Sonny, and Cis & Dyke welcomed you with open arms and lead you to your place at the large dining room table. Now as Terry & Linda, David, Penny & I all become the grown-ups, we remember and honor all of you. Thanks for the many memories especially of playing the piano at 6am!on Madison Place ; St Joseph’s Day school vacation; a special baby shower and after hour chat; my mom’s last Christmas Eve and celebrating at Martin’s graduation. With much love, "Terry's Cousin",
