WALKERTOWN - Mrs. Madeline Bennett Peacock, 78, of Friendly Road in Walkertown died Monday, June 14, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 2, 1926, in Forsyth County, a daughter of Joseph Lee and Ida Kreeger Bennett. Mrs. Peacock was a longtime member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Gray Peacock; three sisters, Nonnie Fulp, Elzo Bennett Cole and Gladys Dillon. Surviving are a daughter, Janice Carol Dawkins and husband Bill of Walnut Cove; a son, Jeffrey Greer Peacock and wife Bridget of King; three grandchildren, Tracy Zimmerman of Winston-Salem, and Nikki and Ryan Peacock, both of King; a brother, Henry Bennett of Walkertown; two special friends, Ersie Hoots and Ann Waggoner; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Peacock; and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown, by the Rev. Harold Schwantes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, June 15, 2004, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Senior Services Inc., 836 Oak St. Suite 320, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
