Ruby M. Williams

Ruby Maness Williams, 80, of Portsmouth, formerly of Wytheville, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at her residence. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at I p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in West End Cemetery. She was born in Scott County, daughter of the late James H. and Ella Mae Maness. She was a food service supervisor at Co-Op Corp. at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Williams Sr. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Lynn Sharpe of Chesapeake; son, William M. Williams Jr. of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Au. 13, from noon to 1 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
